In recent decades, resource-rich developing countries have been using their natural resources as collateral to access sources of finance for investment. One of several financing models to emerge as a result is the resource financed infrastructure (RFI) model. This report, consisting of a study prepared by global project finance specialists Hunton & Williams LLP, and comments by Paul Collier, Alan Gelb, Justin Yifu Lin and Yan Wang, Clare Short, and Louis T. Wells, provides the first in-depth analysis of RFI contracting from a project finance perspective.
